A MENTORING opportunity has opened up for young artists in Weymouth and Portland.

From March 2021 - March 2022 B-side will train, mentor and support five young visual artists from Weymouth, Portland and surrounding areas.

The 13 month programme includes ongoing support from B-side artist Molly Scarborough; a minimum of 12 training sessions from the B-side team and up to 14 hours of mentoring from a relevant professional artist.

Each young artist will receive a budget of £500 to try, test and develop work; a travel budget of up to £260 to attend meetings and training sessions and a budget of at least £100 to go and see new work.

Anyone who lives in the local area and is aged between 16 – 25 (or thereabouts) is welcome to apply.

Priority will be given to applicants from Weymouth and Portland who have little experience and support in B-side's training and development areas.

The programme is supported by The Alice Ellen Cooper Dean Charitable Foundation with public funding from Arts Council England.
