A WEYMOUTH businessman is organising an online charity quiz night in aid of three charities.

Andy Evans, who owns Jurassic HR Consultancy, is hosting the quiz on February 24 to raise cash for charities including Cancer Research UK (CRUK), Stroke Association, and Dorset's Weldmar Hospicecare.

Mr Evans said he was motivated to raise cash for the charities after a close family member was stricken with multiple strokes.

He said: "All three of the charities which we're raising money for do tremendous jobs on both national and local levels.

"Cancer Research and the Stroke Association have strong links to both me and my family.

"My father suffered multiple strokes throughout his life.

"Therefore the work which the Stroke Association does is critical to their ongoing needs and wellbeing.

"Cancer Research is so important for all of us, and we're well aware I think as a nation that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has had on charities that now is the right time for us to come together, have a bit of fun and raise money for amazing causes."

As well as supporting the national charities, the decision was made to support the local Weldmar Hospice Care who provide amazing end of life care for patients throughout Dorset.

"With all of their services being provided free of charge, they are people who deserve our admiration, respect and support," said Mr Evans.
