POLICE vehicles 'raced' into a Weymouth housing estate in response to a 'disturbance' in the area.

Police officers were called to East Field Road within the Curtis Fields estate, off Chickerell Road, at 11.35am on Friday, February 19.

An eyewitness in the area said three police cars 'raced' into the road.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said that while officers attended, no action or arrests occurred.

He said: "Dorset Police received a report at 11.35am on Friday, February 19 of a disturbance at an address in East Field Road in Weymouth.

"Officers attended and it was reported that there had been a verbal altercation and one of the two individuals involved was now leaving the premises.

"There were no offences reported and no further police action was required."
