FIREFIGHTERS from Dorset are assisting with a large building fire over the Dorset-Somerset border.
Two fire engines from Sherborne Fire Station have been called to assist fire crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service in response to a fire at a former Natwest bank building in Market Place, Crewkerne after 1pm on Monday, February 22.
14 fire crews are at the scene along with a number of police officers. The road has also been closed by emergency services.
Two crews from Dorchester were among those in attendance.
A spokesman for Dorchester Fire Station said: "Our Command Support unit, also a Breathing Apperatus Support unit was mobilised to a ‘make pumps 14’ in Crewkerne this afternoon."
Meanwhile the A30 at Market Street is closed in both directions and traffic in the area is affected from B3165 Hermitage Street to A356 Market Square.
