A 2.3 METRE tall steel security fence is being proposed for Yewstock College at Sturminster Newton.
The perimeter fence, with wire mesh panels, is designed to improve security at the Honeymead Lane site.
Similar fencing is already in place on parts of the site.
Sturminster Newton town council has raised no objection to the application and says it will comply with the Neighbourhood Plan.
There have been no letters from neighbours as a result of the application, which will be decided by a planning officer at Dorset Council.
A similar application for an almost identical fence around a school in Dorchester led to comments from several neighbours and a town councillor that it made the site look like a prison, rather than a school.
