POLICE in Weymouth have urged residents to consider what their children are getting up to during lockdown - after being informed by a group of people out in public that they were 'just chilling'.
Officers from Weymouth and Portland Police's neighbourhood policing team were called to Weymouth Swimming Pool Car Park on Knightsdale Road on Friday, March 5.
The team had received reports of a large group of youths causing anti-social behaviour
The area was searched with no trace found by officers.
Officers attended once more later on in the evening and located vehicles parked in the car park. When officers asked for a reason as to why they were out, they told officers that they were ‘just chilling’.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "Please can we advise parents and the public that we are still currently in a national lockdown and lockdown restrictions still apply. ‘
"Just chilling’ is not a reasonable excuse to leave your home.
"Do you know where your children are?"
