A WEYMOUTH man has been arrested and charged allegedly causing unnecessary suffering to animals.
John William Pritchard, aged 37, of Meadow Close, was arrested over allegations of animal cruelty.
Pritchard is alleged to have caused unnecessary suffering to four white rabbits, a grey female cat, three chickens, a Royal python, a corn snake, a female hamster, a unnecessary suffering to a European eagle owl.
A warrant was made for his arrest after he failed to attend court on Friday.
The charges were alleged to have taken place between August 1 and August 27 last year at his home address.
Police enquires remain ongoing for the arrest of Deanna Leigh Pritchard, aged 39, also of Meadow Close after a warrant with bail was made after failing to attend court.

John Pritchard will appear at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on April 8.
