A MAN is due to appear in court after another man sustained 'life-threatening' injuries as a result of a serious crash in North Dorset.

On Thursday, October 8 2020 two vehicles collided on Landshire Lane, near the Gibbs Marsh Trading Estate in Stalbridge.

The crash, which involved a black Nissan Micra and a black Yamaha motorcycle, forced the road to be closed for several hours by police as emergency services attended the scene.

The rider of the motorcycle – a man aged in his 20s from Somerset – sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.

The man was described as having 'life-threatening injuries' at the time. He has since left the hospital.

The driver of the Nissan was uninjured.

Following enquiries, a 43-year-old man from Templecombe in Somerset has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 13 for an offence of driving without due care and attention.
