ROAD works are to start on a main route into Weymouth on the same day hospitality businesses reopen.
Wessex Water has apologised in advance for any delays as work on Preston Road, Sutton Road and Church Road is to begin on April 12.
The utility company is replacing a water main and temporary traffic lights will be in place on all three roads for two weeks.
Customers' water supplies will not be affected.
A Wessex Water spokesperson said: “We’ll be replacing ageing pipes to help prevent leaks and improve water quality in the area, starting on April 12 for two weeks.
“This work won’t interrupt customers’ water supply but there will be temporary traffic lights on Preston Road, Sutton Road and Church Road. This is for the safety of road users and our workforce – we’re sorry for any delays.”
