If only plants and flowers could talk they would have had a lot to say last year in Greenhill Gardens.

For some years The Friends of Greenhill Gardens had organised musical events on the bandstand during the summer months. They went on weekly from May til September. Then the year would traditionally finish with the popular Christmas Sing-a-Long in December.

None of that happened last year because of the virus restrictions and the plants must have wondered what was happening!

However things are looking a bit brighter for 2021 and we hope that we will be back with entertainment of some sort.

Meanwhile, please make use of the wonderful area by having your daily exercise walking through the colourful environment. It is kept looking fantastic by the Weymouth Town Council gardeners who win the prestigious Green Flag Award every year.

*Friends of Greenhill Gardens have been trying to publicise the Gardens.

We have produced greeting cards and posters featuring the Gardens which can be bought from our on-line shop.

The main Gardens Poster is shown here and it also features as the front page of the Greetings Cards. – The cards can be sent to anyone you want. They’re a little reminder of wonderful Weymouth.

The area has been described as “the Gem of Weymouth”.

Posters and cards can be seen and ordered on the website www.greenhill-gardens.co.uk/shop

Dorset Echo:

*As the Government is able to relax the pandemic restrictions the FOGG Committee have been planning entertainment in Greenhill Gardens for later this year.

Also the Weymouth Town Council Gardeners have increased

the sitting area in front of the bandstand so more people are able to enjoy the performances.

Do keep a watch on the Friends’ website, in particular the Events page which will give details of what activities will be in the Gardens.

Meanwhile please continue to enjoy the area with walks.
