THERE have been 13 new coronavirus cases recorded across Dorset in the past 24 hours, Government figures have revealed.

Data released by the government shows that 13 cases were confirmed across the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Tuesday, April 6.

The Dorset Council area recorded 9 new cases, taking the total for the area to 11,774 since the start of the pandemic.

The BCP Council area recorded four new cases, taking the area's total to 25,195.

Across the south west region there were 94 new cases, bringing the total to 219,112.

A total of 1,937 new cases have been recorded across England - bringing the total up to 3,816,361 since the start of the pandemic.

Across the whole of the UK, 2,379 new cases of the Covid-19 virus were recorded taking the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,364,529.
