A KEY route will be partially closed for three nights for resurfacing work.

The westbound side of the A35 between the junctions for Northbrook and Troytown will be closed between 8pm and 6pm from Wednesday, April 14 until Friday, April 16.

Signs notifying drivers of the road closure have been placed along the A35 as well as directions for its 1.18-mile diversion route.

Motorists who wish to travel westbound on the A35 during this time will have to depart the road at Puddletown and take the first exit onto Dorchester Road.

Drivers will then turn left onto Blandford Road, continue onto The Moor and then onto the A35.

A spokesman for Highways England said: "The westbound A35 carriageway will be closed between the Northbrook and Troytown junctions overnight on Wednesday, April 14, Thursday, April 15 and Friday, April 16, from 8pm to 6am, for resurfacing work.

"Westbound traffic will be diverted via the Northbrook junction to rejoin the A35 at the Troytown junction."
