SHOPS and restaurants are reopening in Dorchester.

Brewery Square will see the reopening of retailers, bars, restaurants and cafés on Monday, following the government announcement that all non-essential shops and outdoor hospitality venues can reopen from April 12.

Bosses at the square are also creating additional outdoor dining areas for its array of food and drink outlets, including Luccio's, Nando's, Zizzi, Wagamama and Costa, as government guidelines stipulate eateries are only able to serve customers outside until at least May 17.

Charlotte Spracklen, centre manager at Brewery Square, said: "Our businesses have been working incredibly hard during lockdown to prepare for reopening, with many also continuing to serve customers through online and phone order services.

"Everyone is excited to welcome customers back through their doors and we're looking forward to bringing Brewery Square back to life again with our diverse selection of retailers and eateries."

Luciano Pierre White, owner of Luccio's, said: "We are feeling really positive about reopening and welcoming customers back. We can have up to 50 people sat with social distancing on our terrace so we are excited to get back to work."

Brewery Square will be operating with strict health and safety measures on site to ensure the wellbeing of all shoppers, staff and retailers. Hand sanitising are available around the complex, with floor stickers in place where queuing is likely, and regular door handle cleaning.

All reopened businesses will join Moorland Express, Touts Pharmacy, F.I.T.T. Chiropractic, Copper Street Brewery, Morrish and Banham Wine Merchant and Tasting Room, Premier Inn and the Atrium Health Centre, which have kept their doors open for services throughout lockdown.
