AMATEUR and professional photographers are being invited to submit their best photo taken at a new sculpture event to be in with a chance of winning a top prize.

Photographers visiting the Dorset event, FORM - The Sculpture Exhibition, are encouraged to take pictures while there and enter the competition.

Sculptor Simon Gudgeon is holding the event at his sculpture park, Sculpture by the Lakes near Dorchester, where more than 200 pieces by some 30 top sculptures are being exhibited from April 1 to May 16.

This inspiring spectacle will offer plenty of opportunities to capture amazing photos of the artworks and the event - and visitors are being invited to submit their best image for a new competition.

Simon and his wife Monique will be judging entries, and the prize for the winner will be exclusive use of The Island venue, a secluded outdoor seating area on it's very own little island at Sculpture by the Lakes with entry for two and the special Tiffin picnic from the Cafe by the Lakes, the on-site café. The prize will also include social media coverage of the winning photo on Simon Gudgeon and Sculpture by the Lakes’ social media platforms, amassing over 20,000 followers.

To enter the competition, photographers must share their image on social media with the hashtag: #FORM2021.

Simon said: “Sculpture by the Lakes always attracts a lot of photographers at all times of the year, but I expect to see plenty of cameras at the ready for this very special event.

“There are some very unique picture opportunities on offer. We’ve got a polar bear sitting on an iceberg in one of the lakes, swans taking a break on the riverbank, figurative sculptures admiring the views – it’s a photographer’s dream."

FORM – The Sculpture Exhibition will feature some 200 sculptures across the sculpture park’s stunning 26-acres of lakes, rivers, gardens, and woodlands – making it one of the biggest sculpture exhibitions in the UK. Around 14,000 visitors are expected to flock to this rare event, where exhibits, ranging in price from £1000 to £300,000, will be available to purchase.

Tickets for FORM - The Sculpture Exhibition will be priced at £12.50 – which is the standard price of entry to Sculpture by the Lakes.

The photography competition allows for one entry per person. Entries close on May 16 at 5pm, with the winner being announced shortly after. For more information visit https://www.gallerybythelakes.co.uk/form
