It was sad to read of the disturbance at Castle Cove beach. Apparently teenagers misbehaved after they had been given permission to leave the house.

Other societies have taken great care to socialise their children.

Ours is the first to confine them to their houses and isolate them (I assume the story of the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is fictional and can be disregarded).

Perhaps the comments in the Echo are correct.

We should be angry with the children and restrict them even more.

Or perhaps we should think again about the harm we are doing to our children.
