A MAN has been placed under a police protection order 'due to concerns for his welfare'.
On Thursday evening, the police received reports of suspected drug dealing activity on the Rodwell Trail in Weymouth.
Officers detained a man from London for a drugs search. He was then placed under a police protection order.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "Officers detained a young male from the London area for a drugs search after reports of suspected drug dealing activity on The Rodwell Trail. The male was subsequently placed under a Police Protection Order due to concerns for his welfare.
"Please continue to report suspicious activity to us so we can direct our patrols accordingly."
