TWO people were seen trying to steal a catalytic converter in Sturminster Newton last night, police have said.
Police are telling car owners in the area to be vigilant after a couple of people were seen trying to steal a catalytic converter from a Honda Jazz.
The two people were disturbed during the theft and left in a small car towards Hinton St Mary.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Last evening, Monday 19th April at around 21.45 two persons were disturbed stealing a catalytic converter from a Honda Jazz in Sturminster Newton.
"They left in a small dark coloured car towards Hinton St Mary. Please be vigilant for persons paying attention to parked cars and report to Police straight away."
Anyone who sees someone acting suspiciously is urged to report it, giving as much information as possible such as any vehicle registration numbers.
