A SUPERMARKET in Weymouth is 'working hard' to get its free air and water machine operational again after it has been out of action for weeks.

The free air and water machine at Sainsbury's in Mercery Road has been out of action since mid February, much to the annoyance of customers looking to pump up their tyres free of charge.

Unlike other petrol station and supermarkets, Sainsbury's is known to provide machines that allow customers to use their air and water machines at no cost - with other petrol stations and supermarkets charging between 20p to £1.

A Sainsbury’s spokeswoman said: "We’re working hard to bring air and water services back to our Mercery Road petrol station as soon as possible.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."
