A 'DRUNK and abusive' man was arrested by police officers on a Weymouth bridge yesterday.
Patrolling police officers responded to reports of a 'drunk and abusive male' on Westham Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.
The man was arrested and charged for breaching his criminal behaviour order due to being intoxicated and subsequently assaulting a police officer.
He will appear at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, April 21.
Weymouth & Portland Police said: "Officers in Weymouth responded to reports of a drunk and abusive male on Westham Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.
"This individual was known to officers and was arrested for breaching his criminal behaviour order due to being intoxicated and subsequently assaulting a police officer.
"Male is now in custody and will be going to court in the morning."
