A MAJOR Dorset road was closed due to a crash where a vehicle reportedly went into a ditch.
The A31 westbound near to the Merley Bird roundabout, Wimborne, was closed earlier today as a vehicle reportedly came off the road and went into a ditch.
The road was closed while emergency services are at the scene.
Traffic between Bere Regis and Ringwood was affected.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 11.19am to a report of a two vehicle collision on the A31 westbound near to the Merley Bird roundabout. The collision involved a Mini Countryman and an Audi Q7.
"It is reported that the Mini was in a ditch. There were no reports of any injuries sustained by the occupants. Recovery was requested for the vehicle.
"The road was closed while emergency services were on the scene. It reopened at around 12.45pm."
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two pumps from Wimborne and one from Poole were mobilised to a road traffic collision on the A31 in Oakley.
"On arrival no persons were trapped, therefore, we made the scene safe before returning to stations."
