A WEYMOUTH community will have a Post Office again - almost two years after the last one closed.

The former Post Office, based in McColl's on Portland Road, was forced to shut when the convenience store permanently closed in August 2019.

Now the Post Office is re-opening Broadmeadow Post Office at a new location inside NISA Store on Portland Road - just 80 metres away from the former store.

This will restore a full-time Post Office to the community on Monday, June 7 at 1pm.

A Royal Mail spokeswoman said it was 'keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible' and Broadmeadow Post Office will be in a 'modern retail environment'.

The premises will undergo a refurbishment, including an automatic door with level access at the entrance, to ensure the Post Office is accessible.

The branch opening hours will be between 7am to 8pm on Monday to Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sundays.

Feedback on the move can be submitted online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 219518 until Thursday, May 20.

Submissions can also be made via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
