TWO climbers were rescued after suffering injuries in a fall in the Winspit area on the Purbeck Coast.
Yesterday, one climber was rescued by a helicopter and airlifted to Poole after they had fallen and suffered leg injuries.
While the other climber, having raised the alarm, had also fallen and is thought to have possibly broken his ankle. They were stretchered out to an ambulance.
A spokesman for Swanage Coastguard said: "The team were tasked to support colleagues from St Albans at Winspit with a climber who had fallen with leg injuries.
"Coastguard teams from St Albans, Swanage and Kimmeridge were tasked along with the Rescue helicopter from Lee on Solent , South Western Ambulance and Dorset and Wilts Fire and Rescue.
"A further climber had also fallen having raised the alarm and had a possible broken ankle.
"Both climbers received treatment with the first climber airlifted to Poole and the second climber stretchered out to an ambulance."
