MORE than 10 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours.

Data released by the Government show 13 cases were recorded in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Monday, April 26.

Six people across the Dorset Council area tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 11,862 cases in this area.

The rolling rate stood at 13.2 per 100,000 after 50 cases were recorded in the seven days up to Wednesday, April 21.

The Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council area has recorded seven new cases over the same time period, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to 25,295.

In the seven days leading up to Wednesday, April 21, the latest seven-day rolling period, 55 cases were confirmed in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 13.9 per 100,000.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 37,157 confirmed cases of coronavirus across Dorset.

The latest figures are a slight increase on the number of confirmed cases on Sunday, April 25 when 12 positive tests were reported.
