Many of your readers know and love the Peace Garden on the Nothe whether it is for exercise, to enjoy the planting or as a space for quiet reflection.

Over many years a small group of volunteers have turned the site from a hugely overgrown jungle into the garden that so many visitors enjoy today.

Hardworking volunteers still maintain it.

Apart from the occasionally discarded doggie poo bag or used nappy we have had little antisocial behaviour in the garden.

Sadly though recent damage to a circular wooden seat resulted in two of our volunteers spending several hours repairing broken slats.

We hope that this vandalism is a one-off but would be grateful if our many visitors would be ‘eyes’ for us.

Please don’t tackle offenders yourself but report antisocial incidents to the police by calling 101. Thank you.
