PATROLS will be increased on Portland after police received a report of a shopping trolley being pushed over a cliff.

Police said the shopping trolley was pushed over the cliff around 1pm on April 13 near the Blacknor area.

A police spokeswoman from Dorset Police said: "After a recent report of a shopping trolley being pushed over the cliff near Blacknor, patrols will be increased.

"The incident was reported to have occurred at around 1pm on Tuesday, April 13.

"It is not clear whether or not the trolley was recovered."
