A MAN was rescued from the sea last night.
Weymouth inshore lifeboat was launched and police and ambulance crews were mobilised.
A spokesman for Weymouth Lifeboat said: "Weymouth RNLI Inshore lifeboat was launched at 5.36pm on Monday to assist the Police and Coastguard teams with a casualty waist deep in the water below the Nothe Fort.
"In attendance shortly after launching, the lifeboat crew put a crew member into the water alongside a Coastguard and assisted in getting him into a stretcher.
"Once in the stretcher he was carried ashore and along to a waiting ambulance at the lifeboat station.
"The Inshore lifeboat was released at 6.20pm."
