As a seasonal holiday home owner and therefore a regular visitor to Weymouth I was pleased when posters were put up saying police patrols would be operating along the seafront to tackle street drinking and the nuisance caused.
I was therefore disappointed this Bank Holiday weekend to to see at least three groups occupying shelters on the seafront drinking and using bad language.
I’m sure this would be the reason Weymouth did not get a better score from visitors when asked about peace and quiet and safety.
Here’s hoping it can be controlled better when things get busier.
