A VAUXHALL whose driver had no isurance and a Saab that was registered for scrap were both seized by the Dorset Police No Excuse team.

During patrols of East Dorset on Friday May 7, officers stopped three vehicles in Poole, including a Honda 125 which was seen speeding in the area.

After flagging down the car, officers found that the bike did not have learner plates and the rider admitted not having one for over six months.

As the motorbike had no MOT since November 2020 and its driver already had three points for speeding, the culprit now risks losing his provisional licence.

The driver of a Vauxhall Insignia had her insurance policy cancelled for not returning relevant documents. The vehicle was seized, and a fixed penalty issued.

The owner of the Saab, who had adorned the vehicle with a personalise number plate, may have sent in the wrong documentation as the car was found to be registered as scrapped. The vehicle was also seized for examination and enquiries are ongoing.

Officers also spent a few hours on the Horton Road due to complaints of speeding in the 40mph zone. No tickets were issued, with the highest recorded speed being 44mph.

A motorbike failed to stop for police, and enquiries are ongoing.
