FEWER THAN 10 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.
Data released by the government shows, in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Saturday, seven cases were confirmed across the county.
In the BCP Council area, five cases were confirmed, taking the area’s total since the start of the pandemic, to 25,395.
In the seven days leading up to May 3, 59 cases were confirmed in BCP, giving a rolling infection rate of 14.9 per 100,000 people.
The Dorset Council area recorded two new cases, taking the total to 11,917.
The rolling rate for the local authority area was nine after 34 cases were confirmed in a week.
Elsewhere, three new cases was confirmed in the New Forest, taking the total to 6,210.
The rolling rate stood at 7.8 after 14 cases were confirmed in the week preceding May 3.
In the UK, 2,047 new cases of the Covid-19 virus were recorded, taking the total number of positive cases in the UK since the start of the pandemic to 4,433,090.
