A MOTORCYCLIST suffered an injured wrist after he took 'evasive action' to avoid a crash on a key Weymouth route.

The collision, which occurred at around 5pm on Sunday, May 2, took place near to the Jurassic Roundabout on the A354.

Dorset Police say it involved a black Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was reportedly taking evasive action to avoid a collision with a grey Ford Mondeo as both vehicles travelled north toward Dorchester.

There was no direct contact between the two vehicles. The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, came off his bike and suffered an injury to his wrist.

The Ford driver reportedly pulled over a short distance up the road but subsequently left the scene prior to police arriving.

Officers investigating the A354 crash are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Police Constable Charlie Frost, of Weymouth police, said: “We have identified the car involved in this incident and are making enquiries to speak to the driver.

“I am appealing for any witnesses who have not already spoken to police or anyone who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage to please contact us.”
