POLICE are warning bicycle owners to 'remain vigilant' in Swanage after a spate of burglaries hit the area in one morning.

Officers were called to properties in the Swanage area on Friday (May 7) after reports of burglaries to sheds.

Police said two bicycles were stolen from a shed in De Moulham Road, while another two bicycles were stolen from a shed in Rabling Road - with reports of an attempted bicycle theft from a property in Anglebury Avenue.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: "Police received several calls in recent days relating to burglaries to sheds and thefts in Swanage.

"All these incidents appear to have taken place on the morning of May 7.

"Two bicycles have been stolen from a shed in De Moulham Road.

"Two more bicycles were stolen from a shed in Rabling Rd and the attempted theft of a bicycle was reported from Anglebury Avenue.

"Police would like to bring these reports to your attention and ask you to remain vigilant and review your security arrangements for your property, especially your sheds and outbuildings."
