FIREFIGHTERS and paramedics were called to help a person who impaled their hand on a tree root.
Firefighters were sent to assist paramedics in releasing a person who had impaled their hand on a tree root in Cerne Abbas, Dorchester.
Small tools were used by firefighters to release the casualty before they was handed over to paramedics.
A spokesman from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "A crew from Maiden Newton sent to assist paramedics release a casualty with a hand impaled on a tree root. Casualty released using small tools and handed over to paramedics.
"A crew from Charmouth were also mobilised to assist with access but were not required."
