FARM buildings to the west of Guy’s Marsh could be converted to five homes – if Dorset Council agree.

The prior approval application is for Lydford’s Farm with public comments open on until June 7th.

The site is off the B3091 between St James Street to Kit Hill.

An application report says that two of the houses will be larger, three smaller, by the conversion of farm buildings which have been used for livestock.

The application says the larger homes, at either end of the block, will be around 230square metres and the smaller ones each 100square metres, all will have at least two parking spaces. The two larger units are designed to have a part mezzanine floor with the roof being re-clad in insulated zinc sheeting.

The prior approval is being requested under planning laws which allow certain redundant farm buildings to be converted without the need for full, detailed, planning consent.

The Dorset Council reference number for the application is WP/21/00070/FUL.
