A LYME Regis girl has been accepted into a renowned cathedral choir.
Nine-year-old Cecilia Davies was admitted alongside two others as a full chorister in the Salisbury Cathedral girls' choir.
Cecilia was welcomed into the choir in a specially choreographed, Covid-safe service on Sunday, May 2 - at which she received a chorister medal and distinctive green robes.
The event was the first to be held in person since Christmas, and featured the three girls participating in a traditional ‘bumping’ ceremony - in which newly admitted chorister’s have their heads 'bumped' on a special stone.
New chorister Cecilia has already made her mark as one of the choristers hosting the cathedral’s virtual chorister tour, fronted by Alexander Armstrong.
Both Cecilia's parents are musicians, her mother is a saxophonist and music teacher and her father plays the organ at church. Cecilia has opted to play the oboe and the piano.
