PANDEMIC measures have led to mixed results for the LiveWell Dorset service.

A lower than average number physically attended courses although over 2,000 signed up online for courses normally offered in the classroom.

Overall the service says that during the year it helped more than 700 people stop smoking, some with the help of e-cigarettes sent direct to clients’ homes, supported by digital coaching.

The training team delivered online sessions to 1,800 people with its website attracting an average of 12,000 hits per month although by November 2020 that figure increased to just under 20,000.

The closed Facebook group, ‘Our LiveWell’, also saw a rise in members and now has over 3,000 people choosing to engage with the peer-to-peer support group.

The service offers free health advice and coaching to help deal with weight loss, smoking, drinking, a lack of exercise as well as anxiety and depression.

The service can be found online at https://www.livewelldorset.co.uk/ or reached by telephone on 0800 840 1628 or 01305 233 105 during office hours.
