FIREFIGHTERS were sent to a motorcycle fire in Weymouth this morning.

A fire crew from Weymouth attended a fire on Gladstone Close in Littlemoor in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire but they said the bike was destroyed by the blaze.

No one is believed to have been injured during the incident.

Dorset Police attended the scene after getting a report from the fire service and said enquiries were ongoing to establish what caused the motorcycle fire.

A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to Gladstone Close, Weymouth at 2.08am this morning for a fire involving a motorcycle. One crew from Weymouth attended and used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which destroyed the motorcycle. Our stop was at 2.26am."

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report from the fire service at 2.21am on Wednesday 19 May 2021 relating to a motorcycle fire in Gladstone Close in Weymouth. Officers attended the scene.

"There were no reports of any injuries. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire and whether there are any suspicious circumstances."
