A PLOT of land in a ‘popular’ Dorset village earmarked for development has sold for under £350,000.

Measuring approximately 0.20 acres, the plot is located on the edge of the ‘popular village’ of Stoborough near Wareham.

The land on Oaklands Close was put up for auction on Friday, May 21 by Symonds and Sampson with a guide price of £225,000.

Symonds and Sampson explain that the plot has full planning permission from Dorset Council to build a ‘stylish’ two-bedroom dwelling.

The lot, described as being 'located in a small leafy residential close', attracted a flurry of bids as bidders aimed to buy themselves a key plot of land. The 0.20 acre plot of land eventually sold for £344,000.

The brochure explained the approved plans provide a modern property with accommodation comprising large open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room, utility room, two bedrooms and two cloakrooms. There will also be space for ‘ample’ gardens and off-road parking.

There is potential to create two further bedrooms and a family bathroom in the loft space, if granted permission.
