A BOAT with a person onboard was washed to shore after its engine failed.
Lifeguards were called to East Beach, West Bay, yesterday after a boat suffered an engine failure and washed ashore with a person onboard.
A fishing boat helped to tow the boat to safety.
A spokesman for RNLI Lifeguards Weymouth and West Dorset said: "Senior lifeguard Josh and lifeguard Harry responded to a vessel that had suffered engine failure and washed ashore with one person onboard at West Bay, East Beach yesterday.
"Thankfully the skipper was able to jump onto the shoreline without any injuries and a local fishing boat offered to attach a line and recover to the safety of the harbour."
