BURGER King in Weymouth is set to officially open this weekend - after two delays.

The new fast-food restaurant, in Link Park, Chickerell, was earmarked to open on Wednesday, but due to an issue with the transport of interior furniture the doors remained shut to the public while finishing touches took place.

Representatives for the fast food chain said the new Weymouth site will open to the public tomorrow.

A spokesman from Burger King said: "We've had confirmation that the new restaurant will open on Saturday and the furniture will arrive to the site on Friday.

"After installation of the furniture, we will be ready to go.

"Our staff are ready and keen to get started."

The much anticipated opening of Weymouth's newest fast-food restaurant has been delayed twice. It was originally set to open on May 3 and then again on Wednesday. The latest delay came after furniture allegedly got stuck at French port Calais.
