Once upon a time in the County Town of Dorchester, Dorset, there seemed to be officials of Dorset Council who appear to be unable to make a decision if their lives depended on it- what an absolute FARCE this had turned out to be.

Obviously the solution to the new charges for Sunday parking at the Fairfield Car Park is to just simply make them the same as the Wednesday parking charges and it seems it is only Cllr Molly Rennie who has the common sense to aim for this!

But no, we now have the new signs, at what cost one wonders, and it seems according to Cllr Ray Bryan that indeed this could still be changed, meaning the new signs would be totally defunct!

Can anyone with just a small amount of common sense realise that people coming to the Sunday Car Boot on the short-stay car park may only need a couple of hours to whizz around and have a look and probably will not be too keen to pay the new £2.60 min charge, whereas £1 as per the Wednesday parking fee would be more acceptable? You have to ask yourself, just how much more debate does this need?

To finish, should we not be encouraging visitors to Dorchester and supporting the Sunday Car Boot from which a lot of Charities benefit by simply charging a realistic and fair price to park their cars?
