WEST Dorset MP Chris Loder is pushing bosses at South Western Rail (SWR) for improvements to Dorchester South station.

Last week, Mr Loder, who is the chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on SWR, hosted managing director of SWR Claire Mann and Network Rail’s route director for Wessex Mark Killick for an open dialogue about the future after the pandemic and the improvements that need making.

His efforts are ensuring that the feedback from people in Dorset is going straight to the highest levels at South Western Railway and Network Rail.

He said: "I will be relentless in making sure we get Dorchester South Station sorted."

The group was well attended by industry representatives and other Members of Parliament.

As Chairman of the group, Mr Loder chairs regular meetings to ensure people’s priorities for SWR are met with the support of his colleagues in south west constituencies.

Working as a group, the APPG on SWR continues to be effective at getting the needed improvements for excellent rail service in the south west.
