FARM buildings at Lydfords Farm, Guy’s Marsh could be converted into five homes.
An application to Dorset Council seeks to use prior approval permitted development rules for the conversion of redundant farm building without the need for the full planning process.
The site is off the B3091, St James Street to Kit Hill.
The application asks for two larger homes of 232 square metres and three smaller homes, each of up to 100 square metres.
Agents Symonds and Sampson say the roof and most of the existing walls will be retained with the two large units able to have the addition of a mezzanine floor. All the units will have an inner insulation skin which will be erected against the existing walls with new windows and doors.
Melbury Abbas and Cann group parish council say they support the conversion of the cattle barn and milking parlour.
Public comments on the application, ref P/PAAC/2021/01589, remain open until June 7th.
