FEWER than 20 coronavirus cases have been recorded across Dorset, according to the latest statistics.

The latest Government figures show 15 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Sunday, June 6.

In the Dorset Council area, two new cases were reported. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 11,989 Covid-19 cases confirmed across this area.

Over the latest rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council area, 25 Covid-19 cases were reported, with a case rate of 6.6 per 100,000 people.

13 new cases were recorded across the BCP Council, taking the total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic to 25,553.

The rolling seven-day period for the BCP is 33 cases, with a case rate of 8.3 per 100,000 people.

The latest figures released on Sunday are a decrease on the coronavirus cases reported on Saturday, June 5 after 28 people tested positive for Covid-19.

During the course of the coronavirus pandemic, there have been 37,542 cases of Covid-19 confirmed across Dorset.

Elsewhere, the New Forest area recorded a single new coronavirus case. The total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic stands within the New Forest at 6,242.

The seven-day total for New Forest is six, with a case rate of 3.3 per 100,000 people.
