A NEW post office has opened for a Weymouth community which has been without a branch for almost two years.
The former post office, based in McColl's on Portland Road, Wyke Regis was forced to shut when the convenience store permanently closed in August 2019.
Now, the new Broadmeadow Post Office inside the NISA Store, also on Portland Road, has opened - just 80 metres away from the former store.

It brings with it a full-time branch for the Wyke Regis community - after opening its doors on Monday of this week.
Postmaster Kethan Ardash said: "We undertook a big refurbishment last year.
"Customers and councillors asked if we could we take on a post office as it would be an ideal place as it was close to where the branch had been.
"Everyone is delighted that Wyke Regis has a post office again after two years."
Antoinette Chitty, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored a full-time Post Office to Broadmeadow. We know how important services are to a community."
The branch opening hours are 7am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sundays.
