THERE were long delays on a key route in Dorset due to emergency repairs to fix a burst water main today (Wednesday, June 9).
Temporary traffic lights were in place on the A35 between Bridport and Chideock as Wessex Water repair the issue.
Travel Dorset stated there were 'long delays due to urgent roadworks' as Google's traffic map system estimated delays of up to 20 minutes.
An update from Travel Dorset reads: "Queueing traffic on A35 both ways between Star Lane (Chideock) and B3162 West Road (Bridport).
"In the roadworks area."
A spokesman for Wessex Water said: "We’ve just completed repairs to a burst main on the A35 West Road, which was reported to us overnight.
"We’re sorry for any delays caused by the temporary traffic lights, which have now been cleared. We expect traffic to return to normal soon."
