A MAN in his 40s has been airlifted to hospital following a crash.
The A357 near Shillingstone has reopened following a crash where one person was 'seriously injured'.
Police and the ambulance service were called to the A357 just before 7am this morning after reports of a crash between a Seat Ibiza and a Kawasaki motorbike.
A spokesman from Dorset Police said: Officers and the ambulance service were called to the A357 near Shillingstone at 6.47am.
"The driver of the car was a man from the Yeovil area.
"The motorcyclist is a 42-year-old man from Blandford.
"Also in attendance was an air ambulance.
"Officers have attended, along with the ambulance service, and road closures were put in place as the emergency services responded to the incident.
"A man was flown to a hospital in Southampton for treatment to injuries that are believed to be serious. The road reopened shortly after 10am."
