A ROAD near Corfe Castle will close for two nights - with a 11-mile diversion in place.
A 600-metre stretch of Studland Road, from its junction with the A351, will be closed in both directions between 9pm and 6am, starting on Wednesday, June 16 and Friday, June 18.
A public notice from Dorset Council states the maintenance is to carry out tree works and a road closure is necessary for the works to be safely carried out.
It reads: “This notice will allow Knighton Countryside Management Ltd to undertake essential safety works on the trees in this area."
During the road closure, a 11.1-mile diversion route will be signposted and will take motorists around the Purbecks and near Swanage.
To bypass the closed road, motorists must head south-east on A351/East Street for 5.6 miles towards Sandy Hill Lane.
While still on A351, drivers need to turn left onto Shore Road and then continue onto Ulwell Road.
From here, motorists turn left to stay on Ulwell Road, take a slight left and then turn left onto B3351.
Dorset Council warns that any person who breaches the road closure could be convicted or face a fine not exceeding £1,000.
