A HUNT for a group of people who have reportedly been seen with machetes has been launched.

Dorset Police was called at 2.15pm on June 10 to a report of a group of three men and a woman in possession of two machetes on Alexandra Road, Bridport. There were no reports of any threats made to members of the public.

Officers attended and carried out searches of the area.

Two of the men were described as aged in their early 20s and both wearing tracksuits. The third man was riding a bicycle and described as wearing a two-tone dark-coloured Puffa-style jacket with light blue on the upper arms.

All three men are reported to have run through the skate park in the direction of West Allington and Magdalen Lane.

Neighbourhood Inspector Darren Stanton, of Bridport police, said: “An investigation is underway to identify the group and I am appealing for any witnesses to please get in touch.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the group from their descriptions given or has any information that may assist in identifying them.

“Officers will continue to patrol the area and can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns.”
