COASTGUARDS have been called to Chesil Beach on Portland as a man is reported to have suffered a medical emergency.
According to eyewitnesses a man has injured his leg whilst in the sea, and there is a two-hour wait for an ambulance.
Meanwhile, coastguards are in attendance.
A resident who is currently on the beach said: "The Coastguard attended as he is still half in the sea poor man."
Beachgoers broke into a round of applause as the ambulance arrived.
An eyewitness said: "The casualty shouted “clap then in” as the crew carried him up the steep stairs! Everyone cheered and clapped! Was very cool actually."
The casualty was then safely transferred into the ambulance by coastguards and beachgoers.
