MULTIPLE people have been rescued after they were trapped in their vehicles following a crash on the A35.

People have been rescued after they were trapped following a two vehicle crash on the junction of the A35 with the B3159 at Winterbourne Steepleton at around 11am this morning.

Firefighters, police and paramedics have been at the scene.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report received at 10.51am of a two vehicle road traffic collision in Winterbourne Steepleton. Fire and ambulance services are also attending."

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two fire crews from Dorchester are in attendance at a road traffic collision on the junction of the A35 with the B3159 at Winterbourne Steepleton.

"The incident involves two vehicles with persons trapped. Firefighters are using rescue equipment to release them."

Firefighters returned to the station at around midday.
